Bollywood movies to be banned permanently in Pakistan, Says PEMRA

After recent political developments between both neighboring countries, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has decided to have Bollywood movies to be banned Permanently in Pakistan.

This has been announced by current Chairman PEMRA Mr. Saleem Baig in an event hosted by All Pakistan Satellite Goods Association in Lahore. The traders have decided to voluntarily destroy all illegal Indian DTH equipment including the DTH boxes, Dish Antennas, CCCcam, C-Line equipment, and other stuff related to illegal DTH services.

Indian Movies Banned in Pakistan Says Chairman Pemra

Addressing the gathering, The Chairman of PEMRA said, “These Illegal Indian DTH services being run in Pakistan, generates hefty amounts which ultimately ends up adding more revenue to Indian DTH companies.

Other than that, PEMRA chairman told media that no Bollywood movie would be distributed at any Pakistani cinema.

He said India attacks on the same country where it mints money by distributing its movies. He said that PEMRA is thankful to the traders association of Mall Road and standing with them on this matter.

All Pakistan Satellite Goods Association officials said that traders are against the Indian content. And it also announced the ban on Indian channels will also be permanent from now on.

However, the chairman PEMRA didn’t respond to questions asked about the launch of Pakistan DTH services. It seems like more time needed for companies to establish their network in Pakistan before the official launch of first ever Pakistan DTH services.
